Youth Engagement and Safety Policy

Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to ensure the safety, well-being, and positive experience of all youth participants under the age of 18 who are involved in programs, coaching sessions, and activities provided by Ascent Youth Coaching.
2. Commitment to Safety
Ascent Youth Coaching is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for all youth participants. We adhere to best practices, industry standards, and legal requirements to safeguard the well-being of young individuals.
3. Coach Qualifications and Training
All coaches and staff members working with youth participants undergo a thorough background check and adhere to the necessary legal requirements for working with minors. They are also required to complete training in child protection, safety protocols, and appropriate behavior.
4. Supervision and Ratios
Adequate supervision is maintained at all times during coaching sessions, activities, and events. Age-appropriate supervision ratios are strictly followed to ensure each youth participant's safety and individualized attention.
5. Code of Conduct
All coaches, staff, participants, and parents/guardians are expected to adhere to a code of conduct that promotes respect, inclusivity, and positive interactions. Any form of bullying, harassment, or inappropriate behavior is strictly prohibited and will be dealt with promptly.
6. Consent and Communication
Prior to participation, parents/guardians must provide written consent for their youth to engage in coaching sessions and activities. Open and transparent communication channels are maintained with parents/guardians to address any concerns, share progress, and ensure that they are informed about their youth's involvement.
7. Emergency Procedures
Ascent Youth Coaching maintains up-to-date emergency contact information for each participant. In case of emergencies or unforeseen situations, appropriate protocols are followed to ensure the safety and well-being of youth participants.
8. Privacy and Confidentiality
All personal information and records related to youth participants are treated with the utmost confidentiality and are only accessible to authorized personnel. Information is shared only on a need-to-know basis for the purpose of delivering effective coaching.
9. Respect for Boundaries
Coaches and staff members respect the physical, emotional, and personal boundaries of all youth participants. Any form of physical contact is limited to what is necessary for coaching purposes and is carried out in an appropriate and respectful manner.
10. Reporting and Compliance
Any concerns or suspicions regarding the safety, well-being, or behavior of youth participants are promptly reported to the designated Child Protection Officer. Ascent Youth Coaching complies with all applicable laws and regulations related to youth protection.
11. Continuous Improvement
We continuously review and update our policies and procedures to ensure the safety and positive experience of youth participants. Feedback from parents/guardians and participants is welcomed and used to enhance our programs and practices.
