Eligibility: All student athletes preparing to attend post-secondary institutions in 2027.

 

Essay Topic: "My Sport Hero"

 

At Ascent Youth Coaching, the belief is in the power of sports to shape young lives, teach invaluable lessons, and create lasting memories. It has long been recognized that pursuing higher education alongside an athletic career is both commendable and challenging. To support these dedicated young athletes, AYC is offering a bursary to assist with post-secondary costs.

 

Submission Requirements:

 

•     The essay should be approximately 500 words.

 

•     Essays must be typed in 12-point Times New Roman font, double-spaced, with 1-inch margins.

 

•     Include your name, contact information, and the name of your post-secondary institution at the top of the first page.

 

•     Ensure your essay provides a personal insight into your relationship with sports, the hero you selected and reflection on thier overall significance in your life.​

 

Selection Criteria: 

 

Essays will be evaluated based on:

 

•     Depth of understanding and personal connection to the topic.

 

•     Clear and organized structure.

 

•     Grammatical accuracy and writing fluency.​

 

Submission Deadline: 15 March 2027

Winners will be notified by 16 April 2027. The bursary will be awarded at your respective school’s awards and recognition night unless otherwise arranged.
